See That The Living God is Speaking
When we see what is happening around us, we might forget to contemplate that God breathed it. But the truth is that the living God is active and over all. What we see and even the hosts that we don’t see, came to be by the breath of his mouth.
By the word of the LORD the heavens were made, and by the breath of his mouth all their host.
Psalm 33:6
When I saw icicles hanging from the roof of our barn, I ran back to the house to get my camera so I could share the glory of what God breathed. It was an encouragement, a reminder of God’s glory.
By the breath of God ice is given, and the broad waters are frozen fast.
Job 37:10
Another way to say that God breathed, is to say that He spoke.
The voice of the Lord makes the deer give birth and strips the forests bare, and in his temple all cry, “Glory!”
Psalm 29:9
The term CreationSpeech comes from the truth that God’s voice is evident everyday in creation. He is speaking.
Day to day pours out speech, and night to night reveals knowledge. There is no speech, nor are there words, whose voice is not heard.
Psalm 19:2-3
Our Response Reflects Our Faith
We can look everyday to see what God breathed through the actions of His voice, and our faith is tested. How do we respond? Our response improves over time as we know God better. For example, we benefit by knowing that God is over all things. By God’s grace, we are able to die more to our self through repentance. And we live increasingly for the true God of the Bible. This is possible through faith in the Lord Jesus, and the gift of the Holy Spirit.
Now we have received not the spirit of the world, but the Spirit who is from God, that we might understand the things freely given to us by God.
1 Corinthians 2:12
Ice breathed by God
When I saw ice as God breathed to reveal His glory, I felt called to share it with you.
Here is a gallery of images. A caption will appear when you hover over the lower portion of each photograph, reflecting my imagination. The Lord is good and His creation testifies to His wisdom in the Word.
WOW, Neal! What a fantastic post! Thank you for helping me see my King and His handiwork in my yard and reminding me of His creativity and power! He gives us so many amazing gifts, doesn’t He?
Lisa,
Yes he is the giver of every perfect gift. Thank you for sharing your enthusiasm for God.
These images are beautiful and is a wonderful reminder that if we will slow down God loves to reveal Himself. James 1:17 reminds us that, “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and comes down from the Father of lights, with whom there is no variation or shadow of turning.” I was amazed on a walk yesterday and was meditating on sowing seeds to look at the variety of seeds from the trees and plants I walked past. I had to stop and marvel at a pine cone. God’s everlasting love, hope, provision and abundance is beyond compare. Thank you for sharing!
Jennie,
Thank you for sharing James 1:17 and the blessings of your walk with God.
“O LORD, how manifold are thy works! In wisdom hast thou made them all: the earth is full of thy riches.” (Psalm 104:24, actually the entire psalm depicts the full glory of God’s sovereignty) The creation, as Dr. RC Sproul put, is a silent revelation. (Romans 1: 19, 20)
Linda,
Thank you for your thoughtful comments.
Those are key verses for this ministry.
Blessings,
Neal
