It is good to reflect on the year with gratefulness, ascribing glory and strength to the LORD. He has blessed us much as a witness to His steadfast love. He has not poured out as much discipline on our nation as I expected. Maybe people are crying out to God in repentance. The Holy Spirit is evident in the receptivity of people to the truth of His word. Let us declare His marvelous works.
It was a privilege to participate last week in Generation’s Shepherds Conference, Elizabeth, CO. I enjoyed partnering with others in prayer, song, and reflection on excellent teaching. Now armed with a heightened awareness of the application of God’s word to all areas of life, we wait on God in the expectation that He will use us for His glory. One of the encouragements that we received was to write music to remember God’s work in our lives.
“Oh give thanks to the LORD; call upon his name; make known his deeds among the peoples! Sing to him, sing praises to him; tell of all his wondrous works! Glory in His holy name; let the hearts of those who seek the LORD rejoice! ‘Seek the LORD and his strength; seek his presence continually!” 1 Chronicles 16:8-11
“Oh sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth! Sing to the LORD, bless his name; tell of his salvation from day to day.” Psalm 96:1-2
The mule deer in the area were especially active during the conference giving guests from around the country a hint of the splendor and majesty of God. I am happy to capture a few photos from this time that I can share with you here. Previously I reflected on how the Lord makes the deer give birth. This time of the rut is another illustration of the amazing hand of God in the creation of life. It is a blessing to have the companionship of animals to remind us of God’s goodness and glory.
I am grateful for your interest in CreationSpeech. I pray that it will help us to know God and walk humbly with Him. God bless your time of reflection with rejoicing as in “the first thanksgiving.” Here are links to recent presentations on the Pilgrims vision for generational faithfulness, their evangelistic missions, and God’s providence in their planting in New England.
Very special words this Thanksgiving.
