Wisdom and goodness are clearly visible in the creation. Nature is seen as the ultimate standard of wisdom and goodness by organizations like the Biomimicry Institute, though God commonly is not acknowledged as the source. Who else could be the source, but the all-wise God, creator of heavens and earth?
“Oh, the depth of the riches and wisdom and knowledge of God!” Romans 11:33.
“O LORD, how manifold are your works! In wisdom have you made them all” Psalm 104:24
Example: Amazing wing design of the Morpho butterfly. The tiny and detailed structures responsible for the bright, iridescence colors in butterfly wings are remarkable. They were discovered in the wing scales of tropical Morpho butterflies using an electron microscope. It is understood, when light contacts these multilayered structures, the precise spacing causes constructive interference responsible for the bright blue color. The wing design’s hard to replicate artificially. “These wings were created to show the handiwork of God, the source of beauty.
“One thing I have asked from the LORD, that I shall seek: That I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD And to meditate in His temple.” Psalm 27:4
Pipevine Swallowtail butterfly. Iridescent colors exist in butterflies in the U.S. such as the Pipevine Swallowtail. We planted Pipevine in our yard in Missouri and saw eggs, caterpillars, chrysalis, freshly emerged adults, and mating pairs of the species. It is satisfying to meditate on God’s wondrous works along with our children. “Man’s chief end is to glorify God and to enjoy Him forever” (Westminster Shorter Catechism, 1647).
